May be heat soak , fuel expansion from heat . Does it do this when cold or just when motor reaches temp. ?

could if the pump is at fault or the return line is plugged . I would check the fuel pressure and go from there
Sounds like you are over powering the needle and seats , edelbrocks can only take about 6 lbs. of pressure . Check the fuel pressure at the carb

All good advice , I use a large cookie sheet to tear down the carb , small parts will run and hide .

Make sure you blow out the top cover fuel passages , both needle seats and inlet . They seem to collect junk in there for some reason.
