Is the Eckold kraft former worth the expense. I just sold one of my projects and was thinkin about buyin the 170 kraftformer for 10,000. I have never used one of the eckold but I have heard it is the cadillac. I have a pullmax and a wheel but man I think about the work I could do with that thing. What are your opinions on the machine. http://www.eckold.com/umformen/e_um_Homepage.html Rodger
They are nice machines, never used one, but have seen them in action. One thing to consider is what tooling comes with the one your thinking about buying. The tooling is high dollar, and unlike the pullmax tooling its not as easy to make. The omni-directional shrink and stretch dies are great, but will run about a grand each.
Hey, Ya sure 'bout the 10K price tag? I've been told these run much more than that! And than there's the tooling, ya think Pullmax goodies are top coin, price shrinking die for this puppy. I've played around with one of these, but never tried to make money with one. Sweet tool, the domeing tool produces some great high crowned parts.
