I just picked up a set of SS's and bought the 3 bar spinners at the LARS swap meet ($10 a piece) this weekend and when I went to put the wheels on....it seems that no matter where the spinner is positioned it blocks access to one lugnut. Am I just retarded or is there a trick to mounting the wheels with the spinners on them? I had my girlfriend try to find the "sweet spot" too, but she couldn't either. Help?

How about using a socket with a universal, or an offset ring spanner to get at the wheel nut that is blocked by the spinner ?

Yeah I suppose a socket on a swivel extension is the answer. Sorta weird design if you ask me.

And what is an "offset ring spanner"?

No drugs for me Yo, just some minor retardness...and 5/3 is 1.666

We used to just tighten the four you can get to then tap the spinner with a rubber hammer to gain access to the fifth.

  8. Thats the way they are. I installed many of those in my tire monkey days.Just loosen or tighten the spinner enough to get a wrench on it. once the plate & screw are snug and the wheel is on the veh. you should be able to tighten it by turning the spinner.

It will always block one lug odd number on an odd number.
