Hi all I am a long time lurker from Western Australia but finally have bitten the bullet and joined the HAMB I have a home built model A coupe I first got licensed in 2000, I have about 60,000 miles on it and we have driven it a number of times from the west coast to the east coast of Australia and back. It is all pretty standard for where I live 289 windsor, C4 and 9 inch rear. My long term project is a 1932 ford closed cab pickup. It has 8BA flatty, 4" crank and a 453 GM supercharger. Top loader 4 speed with jeep shifter. Cheers ACME

Hi all Thanks for the welcome. Sir Woosh - driving miles is all good until something breaks. We have had a few dramas in our travels but having said that we always (with help) were able to fix what was wrong and continue on our journey so all has been good. We have met some great people through breaking down. Hey Murray those Aussies are everywhere now and getting into everything:0
What Jeff's talking about is his hard luck awards from driving cross country to the nationals, not once but twice. Pretty sure Jeff is the only guy to have collected the award twice but when you drive over 3000 miles just to get there I suppose the odds are increased. One well travelled hot rod, pretty sure it's been driven to and around all states of Australia, except Tasmania of course, had to go over on the boat but driven all over it.
Here are some pics of mine from the flathead engine thread on here. I wanted mechanical accelerator linkages............... yes I know cable is easlier but I want what I want so 3 days latter And here is a motor shot from the other side Engine is an 8BA flathead with a merc 4 inch crank - almost ready to go together for the final time. Need to run some oil lines and check valve to head clearance then that should be it Blower is a GM453, manifold is a 2 carb Luberg (Australian) machined flat with a custom plate to the blower - BDS blow off valve fitted to front of adaptor and pressure relief valve fitted to snout. Carb adaptors - custom machined as is the rear cover plate. Carbs are blower referenced 94's Blower snout is a modified M90 from a V6 Commadore. Oiling of blower is via main oil feed from block (oil feed and return lines not run yet - oil goes in the side of the blower and drains back to block via internal lines in adaptor plate -then back into block in front of oil breather). Custom pullies - tension on belt is via alternator - hoping to get away with 1 v belt but if it slips will chnge to 2 belts. Have a good mate who did all the machine work

Sorry for posting in the introduction section but I didn't want to start a build post as this is a very long term project but pics were requested in another post so I thought it might be best to put them here Here is my buddy Charlie making final adjustments We got it started (but can't upload video) on the first go so and it sounded really strong with the merc crank and the 400jr cam so after some adjustments and some drama with one of the brand new Offy heads it was time to work on these but final assembly of the blower took a little bit longer as there were no seals for it in WA and they had to come ex east :evil: Pinched an idea of a hidden pcv valve from the HAMB to do this - using a Toyota tarago PCV valve fitted into a core plug which is then fitted into what was previously the downdraft tube then hooked it up with flexible high temp line under the manifold so you won't see it. 8)
