There is a Deuce coupe true Henry steel body at a high end dealer near my home, its been for sale for 6 months or more every time i go by it i look at it, today i noticed it has a HAMB alliance tag on the firewall. Was wondering if anyone recognizes it? Was it one of you guys cars? Got a 327 and triple deuces, TH350 , 9 inch rear, white firewall and interior two tone white/black. Heavy chopped top, seems like a nicely built rod. Story is it was built in Texas, but ended up at another dealer in St Louis.

On the Alliance tag, it should have a name, if ya have a smart phone, shoot a pic of the tag, then do a search here on the H.A.M.B. & perhaps you'll find the previous owner????

I don't mean to sound like a dick, but how do you know it's real henry steel? Because the used car salesman said so, or the window sticker said so? $66k, for a original 32 full rendered five window on a car lot, sounds low. And I doubt the dealer doesn't know what he has.

It does look like a really nice car. I love the louvered hood, three deuces, etc. I can't tell from my laptop, but is the roof not filled in? If it isn't that's even cooler.

Yes roof is filled. Funny, the price seemed somewhat high to me. Its real deal, believe me.

The price seems high to me also. But through a dealer, any thing go's. In this part of the country (Idaho) I would see this car priced at $35,000 to $45,000. Location is every thing. It's a really great looking Hot Rod!

I agree that location dictates price, also the fact its a dealer. However the time its spent on the lot tells a lot about the price point of this ride.

  10. The going price for an original 5 window body seems to be around $20k to $25K +/- a couple $K one way or the other. You're saying this finished car is worth between $35K - $45K in your neck of the woods? If they show up, please send me the contact info. I've spent a ton of time in Boise and have a place to store them until I can ship them North....... I'd even pay you a finders fee. Seriously. Maybe you're seeing fiberglass cars?

  12. ^^^ converts to fifty two grand, kiwi, give or take a few dollars.
More than I'd ever consider paying for any car in that condition, even if I had the cash, which I sure don't.
Nice to look at though, and I hope some rich sucker buys it.

I think that's near enough on the money, maybe 60k. Factor in cost to build, even finding a nice steel car to begin with. I suppose I can relate having recently gone through this purchasing an original deuce 5 window. It owes me over 50k down here in Australia and it's no where near running.

A nice original 5W here in Texas is at least 50k. and then it also need a lot of hour to be as the shown car...

That's what I was thinking as well. I would think that car, if it's real Henry steel and not reproduction steel, is priced on the low side. Not that it matters. No way I have that kind of money.

Reason i believe it is the real deal is it has heavy pitting around windshield opening and tops of the doors. Not that this is a negative on this car , im sure they left it just to add that "its real steel" aspect to the car. Cant imagine why youd do that for any other reason. Also all the fasteners look correct, aging, serial number is real 18xxxxx number (i know this can all be spoofed) etc all that together. I own a brookville bodied roadster and i can tell between mine and the real deal.

Looks like (chicken coupe cook) on HAMB. Think that car is still his avatar here. Appears he hasn't been active in over a year. He was the long time editor of the Deuces Limited newsletter the Deuce Diary and online Soup Up Magazine.

  19. Read the tag, the Hamb handle is stamped right on it. You would know that if you were an alliance member.

  20. To add in here, the firewall tag is the generic version without the owners ID. I can add in, it's a real Henry car, garage queen or maybe just very recently built. A few miles on it, but very clean! The tag looks similar to this....
