I love the stance you've got going on. Looks great. The radiused rails look nice too.

Just have to say...if there were more like you, there'd be less 'idleness' in this fair country of ours.
You're in a Good ASS place.
Keep moving, your welds reflect 'character'.

It sits really nice. The use of the x-member keeps it all simple and cohesive. Plenty of strength without redundancy.

  8. I like those hubcap "outer rings". Not sure what they are called. But they look right on your roadster.

Then a buddy dropped by the shop today and Eric, him, and I got into bench-racing about cap choices for the roadster..

Got the side rails tacked on..
    Measure, measure, measure..
Made the rear edge then tacked it on..
    Measure, measure, measure..
    Made a trunk floor template..
    Trimmed it a little more..
    Threw the rear quarters on..

I should note that that seat is not the one I'm using. Eric threw the seat from his T in there so I could sit in a real seat and make vroom-vroom noises..

And he thought those noises were better than the ones you were making without the seat? Well it's after work and time is short make any noise that works for you.:) Good job Matt!

  18. Couldn't believe my luck but , I found a set! Not many boneyards left with old stuff around here, but these were at one of them. Sorry to hijack your thread.

You know to be honest I kinda like the chrome sides with no center cap.

Are you still planing on the old style flames like your original drawings had? In trying to get a mental image for the finished project.

Yes! The flames are still on my to-do list!

    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1457310707.842822.jpg

Just been stuck on the subrails, but I sold some stuff and made some money so tomorrow, I'm dropping the 283 off at the machine shop for some work. Ordered a lot of parts so the list is getting pretty short.. Give me a week or two and I'll have a big update.

The shift tower has a small "rod" called a detent that sits in between the fork shafts. When you shift from the Reverse/1st fork to the 2nd/3rd fork or vice versa, this rod slides into a notch in the shaft on either shafts to prevent the other fork from sliding into gear while the other fork is engaged. This spring-loaded detent just makes it harder for the forks to shift, but makes for better shifting mannerisms - depending on who you ask.

Car looks so much cooler in person and that along with the old style flames really cements my vote for the A grill staying
