Hi for all. I got finally A new project. Straight from CA Lompoc
It was in one dragrace family in glory days. and used in a variety of engines and achieved many good results.

It's a Ford model A Coupe 1931 with 28 fenders and it has a chevy 283 engine with dual quad offenhauser, th350 trans. Boxed frame. Drilled lincoln front axle with hotrod linc brakes. I also have ford y-block 272 for it.

hey, happy new year for all!

maybe i finish my project in this year, hmm.
I starter disassembly at new years eve.
Rear main leaf was broken :/ but new is on the way already.
The last of the nut is removed from car - and ready for sandblast.

    Paint thoughts and questions.

What you think - i paint the frame to black again, but question is that: gloss or semi?
brake plates going to cotton white
front axle goes also black and the drilled area to cotton white.
body - i might think light blue with brown under-color to patina it later if i want. and some pinstripes.

    tell me what you think?

Frame looks solid, is it level cross wise front and back? The left front looks a bit high.

hi, it was not level crosswise, because, there is a panhard rod on the rear axle. and after i removed that, frame jumped back to crosswise. i will measure again the frame on the floor, if it is twisted or not. I think and hope that is not too bad. Frame is boxed also.

And I found another rear axle with locker inside it, measure ratio and dimensions and if possible then switch to it. Better launch and more fun.

You are going to keep it as a old drag Hot Rod, right??????
Did the previous owner provide any photos of the Coupe from back-in-the-day????

Please, do not do the fake patina.

Old Drag Hot Rods RULE !

the fake patina is not that i know.
I like old drag rods. And i really like chopped highboy's. So i might cut it.
In the future i look for a lake pipes also.

But: The frame was a bit bent, about inch. I placed it to a big plane table, tied it place and bend it up to straighten with hydraulic car jack.

I will find some old pictures of this car.

Most of the parts are sandblasted, frame is primered already, there is a pic of body after sandblast and brushed. Pretty cool and solid. Doors are good. Decklid is very bad :/

  23. Wheels/tires look great! That frame looks good enough to throw the engine in and drive it around.

    Nice car, brother!
BE DIFFERENT! -leave it full height!! It's too nice a body to chop!!
( and now we start hearing from the "They made millions of them" crowd, but how many are chopped versus not chopped????)

yes, right now i can say that there are quite a wide variety of old cars and American cars. Most of the us-cars were transported to out of country in 90s. Some old images of city streets betrayed that there was us-cars also, in time when Estonia was in soviet union. But it was like "cuban chrome" where all repair jobs were done with Russian car and tracktor parts :D

American car events/cruises and stuff are slightly represented. But hotrod and kustom kulture is strongly in the early stages. All ford model a's can be counted on the fingers of one hand :p
But the topic is ticking quietly.
