Features Kustoms blues? I need to see some kustoms....

  1. I thought the same thing. Judging is my guess. Stuckey's Merc was in contention (and won) King of Merc's. If I am remember correctly, Puckett's Ford won "Best of Friends".

For some reason some shows demand you raise your hood to be judged. I think it should be optional. Raising a hood can ruin the overall look of the vehicle lines. I have raised my hood to com;ply with the rules; but I raise it to the height where a new judge will get a bleeding forehead from approaching the engine compartment from the front. My hood comes to a definite point in the front. My hood is a weapon. Ouch!

Look at the 40 Mercury convertible pictured above. Displaying that car with a raised hood ruins the overall look. Several years ago I was at a show where they had very young freshly scrubbed judges. I caught one in my car looking for the hood release. He demanded I raise my hood for judging. I told him that I would raise it. I couldn't resist. My 39 bit him. He walked away bleeding.

The El Camino was one Gary Glasgow use to own. This was the only picture that I have and I wish that I had more.
