I'm predicting 2016 will be a kool year for kustoms. I'm excited about next year because I know of some kool projects that will be finished and making their debut. The first one that I would like to start talking about is Voodoo Larry's Voodoo Sahara. I have been a big fan of the Golden Sahara since the first day that I saw it in the magazine. Larry's version will be a very kool tribute to George Barris. The reason I love traditional radical kustoms, I appreciate the builder testing my imagination. The Golden Sahara was one of those Kustoms that would have been kool to see cruising the streets. Thanks to Larry one of my daydreams will become reality... It is hard to believe he started with a 53 Kaiser four door. One of the many kool aspects of the build is Larry combined his favorite features of both versions, and added a few twists of his own. I know a lot of my friends do not care for the original Golden Sahara, but you have to appreciate Larry's dedication. It's been amazing and inspiring to watch the progress of this spectacular and ground breaking Kustom. Thanks Larry for your dedication to kustoms and we are looking forward to seeing it this summer... Happy Trails, Mick
Audacious and wonderful. Imagination, craftsmanship and vision. You're right, bodes extremely well for Kustoms.
I was not a big fan of the Golden Sahara but I do look forward to seeing Larry's interpretation completed. I have been watching the progress on Rik's site.
It's my understanding that the original Sahara still exists but the current owner has been keeping it under wraps. If that's the case, then I like this project more. It would have been one thing to clone a vehicle that has been confirmed to have been permanently destroyed, so this as a tribute vehicle is pretty awesome, while being different from the original.
The current owner of the original Golden Sahara is the man who designed and built it with help from Barris It has never changed hands.
Very cool, front looks like the Barris Sahara, the back looks like Bill Hines had a hand in it! I LIKE IT! KK
Wow, that's fantastic. Looking forward to updates as it progresses. How many labor hours are in it so far?
This cat builds extremely cool stuff, am excited about seeing this complicated custom finished. Just superior craftsmanship here
I would like to see them both at the same time. Larry will do it justice. I'll be waiting for the finished product.
Wow, this car is really cool. Hope to see it in person in the near future. Shame Mr. Barris didn't get to see it finished before he passed on..........E
prolly gonna get bashed, but im not knocking the car, id luv to see it in my garage if it would fit lol, but if I had it built personally id pick a version and stick with it and prolly do the 1st version so it doesnt match the how the orginal sits today, have an early and late version around would be pretty cool
I believe the Voodoo Sahara will be a little bit of both versions of the Golden Sahara! It has been a pleasure following this build so far
It`s sad that Larry won`t get to see Georges reaction when seeing it for the first time. But I bet he`s looking down from Heaven and smiling.
