I take it you are confined to a wheel chair. Paul (Kripfink) has a beautiful 1954 Ford panel delivery and is a quadriplegic,he hasn't been on the Hamb in a while but is a avid hot rodder. I admire a man that doesn't let a handicap deter him from his passion. HRP
look up cripfink I think on here, he has a bad ass ride thats wheelchair accessible ..... edit, I see it posted already . I'm also not to far from you I would guess, so if you need anything just holler and I'll help where I can.
Trying to figure out hamb app for android, dont know how to post or reply. Yea I lost my job, both legs and my wife in july this year.
Corbin Taylor (RIP) was a member of our local car club here, and was one of the founders of the National Woodie Club. He was a wheelchair-bound parapalegic for the past 45+ years. He was able to work on his hot rods .... (he had some help building ramps of varying heights out of plywood), and he even chopped the top of this woodie (his own), along with a few others. Perseverance and a solid "don't quit" attitude. I believe I have a photo or two of him working from his ramps, let me search ... "Handicapped"? I think not!
Some of the founders of our hobby were also wheelchair bound..google Phil Weiand of Weiand Manifolds. then there was Chet Herbert of Herbert Racing cams...Good luck on your build
Wow, you have my respect for what you have gone through and going forward. Hope that you do connect with others here to share info, ideas, etc. Good project. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
I think he means he is working from his wheelchair. Fred Carrillo (Carrillo rods) worked from a wheel chair after a B-Ville accident left him wheel chair bound. Yes obstacles to overcome and it helps to have friends around when you need 'em.
I admire your determination. I cant imagine trying to figure out how to position a vehicle during a build to allow access from a wheelchair or dragging my ass around on the ground just to do a simple job let alone actually build one. Of course my determination and desire would put me in the same spot. Nothing would stop me either. What an inspiration.
My son (SPEEDY) on this site has CP, has always been in a chair. He works in the shop most every day. Some others in our sport, Raymond Godman, and Larry Reyes have always worked on their cars.
I am told he is on facebook, but not being a member I can't verify he is,but if someone here has a FB account tell him he is missed. HRP
I admire you for your drive and determination to keep pushing on after such a loss on so many levels. You are living proof that if there is a will, there is a way.
Yea, after three months in the hospital and all this, someone sends me a share this with 10 people or you will have 1 year bad luck thing on face book lol Sent from my XT1526 using Tapatalk
