This is my first model A build and As per the title, I was wondering how guys are going about mounting their model A pick up boxes to a stepped frame to keep the height of the box in line with the cab. Iam open to all ideas. Thanks

    Matt

My frame is kicked up 4" in the rear

I'd think that just like any other pickup with a kicked up frame you would raise the bed floor in the box accordingly and set the box it's self at the height that matches the cab. I've seen it done in a lot of Chevy trucks that have and S-10 frame that has a big kick up. It does cut down on what you can carry inside the bed though.

I have a 4 inch step on mine in avatar.

The A had wood stringers about 2 inches high, delete them for a start.

I trimmed a bit of the side strengthening bars across tray under wood floor and now the tray sits on lugs welded to sides of step .

This then brought the tray back to original height.

This is how I did mine.

I have the step going from an immediate kickup behind cab to very rear as I wanted a heavy duty towbar addition as my truck is a workhorse.

Glad I did this now, as I have since built the slide on camper .

At first I was toying with the idea of having a tipper tray, as the stock A tray balances very nicely where the stock chassis ends.
