I pulled out the frame, stripped off the front suspension, sand blasted it,primed and gave her a few coats of gloss black. Starting to go to town on it now. Need it finished by May

Late April would a much better goal for an eastern Iowan I think. April 29 at the latest I would say. A shakedown run to the Sunshine and off to the fairgrounds.

Shoe boxes for shoes have square corners. Fords are round at the corners. That name doesnt fit the car

Well ,making headway on my '51. Motor, trans, radiator ,hoses, trans lines etc are done. I just finished putting a '53 Chevy grill in it. I am happy with the results so far. Heading into the trunk next for the Air ride components and battery placement.

What did you use to french the headlights as far as buckets/rings? I really like how they turned out.

  9. I have a 302 Roller with GT 40 heads and headers in my 50. Fits fine. I would of redesigned the Motor Mounts, the bolts just snapped off in the block. Using the stock mounts, they put a flat plate from the block to the stock mounts.
I had the bolts replaced with grade 8. If that don't hold, I will have to pull the motor and make a triangulate mount. The flat plate is cantilevered, and I don't think it takes to bouncing. Plenty of power though..

TSO57, We went to a junkyard and got headlight rings off some old Chevy. Can't remember the exact year. Other wise it was a basic frenching kit with a few mods. I liked the junkyard rings as they were contoured to fit the Ford fender and continue a smooth flow onto the stock fender metal.

Steinauge, Thanks for the kind words

It's been too long since I updated pics of my sectioned, chopped and bagged shoebox. Not quite finished but I'm getting there. Besides the new Avatar pic I'll post some more.

Thanks for the kind words and thanks Dave (Thrill3R), for the foundation. It's been a great project. Lots of time and patience to get it to this stage.

I hate to even say the word Ch**y but I sure love that grill! Really makes me think about putting 1 in my '51 Club Coupe! Great job!

Photos appear to show the chop curving in all the right places. Way to go.
