  1. The old Tech School where Snoopy's motor was built recently shutdown & is now sold, had to get a shot :)

  4. As I have been driving Snewp's this summer I was wondering if the car was running too rich, the plugs have been ok, but a bit fouled, horrendous gas mileage, had a subtle "surge" when letting off the gas going down a hill & at higher rpm's it almost seemed like it had a miss... last night as I realized all was damp thanks to recent rain ( no dust) I pulled the air cleaner & seen if there was a difference... Instant improvement ! Would accelerate smoother & ran nice at 65 mph - no surge - Bugger All !! Even though I had a K & N Filter it was still a tiny filter, no problem if used on multi carbs but not on a single I guess !
I took the old one off an old flathead I had ( with mesh type serviceable filter) & sure enough, runs much better under heavy acceleration & plugs are perfect.
Its now painted black, what's people's thoughts ? Leave this in place or find a suitable period chrome piece ? Original builder said he had an oil bath type on there originally, thinking this one might be a close style just not as clumsy as a full on oil bath...

I believe that air cleaner is a '34.........kinda rare.
I'd leave it on.....looks period to me! :)

  6. That would make sense, the rad shell that came with the motor was a 34 Truck.. I was wondering if it was original to the 34 !
    Ya kinda growing on me...

That works but the clear goes on after the silver paint.

I'll have to keep my open for this magazine. I have bought Canadian Hot Rods magazine at my local supermarket in Rockford Illinois on one prior occasion. But congratulations on the well-deserved recognition.

  28. Thanks so much !

On the note of old photos, I was at the widows daughters tonight & the widow said she found another photo for me... This would have been taken in 1969 as I know the plate number it had in 1969 :)
Cool shot, she isn't sure what he climbed up on, but it was his parents driveway, & he obviously had the removable top off that day !
