I am using a power steering pump from a 72 mopar with a K-car power rack. This is the third rack that I blew the seals on. Can the pump pressure be changed on the mopar pump like they do with GM pumps with Mustang racks ? Or at least I thing that's my problem.
    Thanks

  3. Most steering pumps have a relief valve or hydrostat in them, they are adjustable but you would have to put a gauge in the line between the pump outlet and the rack, otherwise you wouldn't know where you are pressure wise. If you haven't got the gear or know what you are up to ,better off going to a power steering joint and get them to adjust it for you.But yes, they are adjustable.

How about using a K car pump? Should be correct pressure for the rack......
