No, this is a swedish FC, Opel Manta body driven by Bjorn Andersson. The car was named Valkyrian. The shot is from Mantorp park.

The Jack Williams Pomona photo has to be '61. '61 was the first Winternationals.

 

You're right, I was there...(when Gordon Collett pulled up to the starting line, the announcer simply said "Here's Collett, from the East Coast." While Ohio is hardly the "East Coast," for some Californians, that didn't matter, everything east of Nevada was "the East Coast.")

 

I would say east of Salt Lake City. I am guilty of thinking the same way

 

10.40's would have been a fast 55 back then.

 

Can anyone ID the track in this shot?

 

The tank farm in the background looks a bit like Indy, but there seems to be too much asphalt in this picture.
