Mr K. you trying to corner the market in Model A's? Here is a shot of my in process 31. Pulling body off frame in a few days for final welding and finish work before starting into the paint process. Been on this about 1 year now.

@lurch13 what is the set-up giving you this frame height? I love the stance. To me, the only thing missing is a little taller tire in the rear... but that's me. Anyway, great roadster.

 

New to HAMB and loving this post! I just found this jewel sitting in a barn, same owner for 60 years. It's a late 31 Cabriolet so don't hate on it too much but I'm thinking of keeping it on its A frame like these. What do you think?

 

I guess I should throw mine in the ring now that it's a real roadster and not a coupster.

 

Here's mine. Gathering parts to put a 59a flathead with a quickchange in it.

 

As mine sits today requiring plumbing and wiring...

 

What's been done to your chassis to get it sitting like this, and do you maybe have a side view of it?

I bought this project about two years ago from a friend. He had bought the frame and suspension parts from Steadfast Manufacturing in the state of Ohio. I have not modifies any of those parts to this point in the build. Tires are 5.50 x 15s in the front, 8.20 x 15s in the rear.

I think it's sitting pretty low so I was thinking the frame has a kick up in the back?

 

It is not what I would consider a kick up, but it is different than stock. It uses a 40 ford spring in the back, and they are a lot flatter than a Model A, and that makes it set much lower. This picture is off Steadfast MFG facebook photo album. As you can see the welds are incredible. If you can get on there you will find lots of pictures of their work.

 

Looks like it's stepped one frame height as I've done on mine. I've liked them on Facebook and will look thru their albums when I come back home. Thanks for your help!

It's nice to see so many undropped axles here. What are you all doing for shocks, is there a consensus on what works best for an early 40s-styles car?
