Blowby--- That's just great, my wifes been gone on a two week vacation, two more days left. Brace yourself dear.
Wowzer! She is enough to make a man forget about old cars....or anything. I believe even today that she would be one of the most beautiful and most photographed women in the world.
Ummm, Marilyn, Raquel, Sophia, Jane, Ursella, Anne, Etc Any one of 'em could cause a man to build a Hot Rod. Beaner she's my #1 as well, still outstanding.
She stayed wasted because unlike you or me she had to live with Marilyn. She paid a heavy price for what she achieved. A Texan that some of us know and love said it this way about his dad, "He bought our house on the g.i. bill But it wasn't worth all he had to kill to get it" With Miss Monroe it wasn't a war, but a price still had to be paid so the question becomes was it worth the price? In the end they used her up and tossed her away like so much trash. Candle in the wind? I don't see it that way but I have been told that I am a cynic and I am certainly not a musician.
Stayed at my cabin last night, and co-incidentally while sifting through some old DVDs ended up watching "Hometown Story" with MM in a non-starring role. Says it's her film debut on the jacket (don't quote me). Here is a clip with her, and I bet you know the guy. Pre-nose job? Full movie also on Youtube
Sophia Loren was where its at for me, killer looking woman, tons of style, never gave a crap what the world thought.
Lots of them ol broads were cool and maybe look worth a romp but end of the day where are they now, and what would they be driving today? I think while we are fantasizing about Marilyn we need to recognize that if those pics we are studying were taken today none of us would give two hoots in hell about the car. They were just cars back then and didn't have any real distinction until we decided that they are cool 60 years later.
Marilyn,Elvis, James Dean, or Jimi Hendrick and the list goes on , They where never destine to grow old or be someones grandparent. Many of their "candles" did not burn for long , but they burned brighter than most. And even after all these years you utter the words Marilyn, Elvis Or Hendricks, they will know instantly who you are talking about!!!! So whether you are famous or not make every day count!! And for those who are gone but not forgotten in some ones heart RIP!!!!! LARRY
there are famous photos from her final film, "something's got to give" (never released) and, no, she didn't bleach it all! do you think someone as voluptuous as she was would get a chance today? seems the "stars" today are all the 500 calorie per day types!
