  2. Well now Roger, you have ruined my whole day now that I don't know where those bumper ends came from. LOL No worries...I hadn't even looked for other pics. But, I do see the Mark II now on the Chevy....I was wondering about those as well, so you have still increased my knowledge. :)

I was at our NSRA show yesterday and came across this little treasure. A kustom 1954 Henry J owned by Monty Kastner of Texas. (PS I have not yet modified these pictures)

Not only was Dan at NSRA's Pueblo event, but I was too and there were a few cool kustoms there...this '36 was parked near the entrance and across from the Henry J...this '36 IMG_1732.JPG really knocked my sox off...

That is gorgeous! Unfortunately it was no longer there on Sunday

  7. Wow! That is really cool! I don't think I have ever seen a Henry J done as a custom

  8. The lake pipes are horrible on a custom of that vintage car but the rest looks incredible.

Awww, to each his own K13...I'm certain there are people that don't like what you've done/added to your car...!!!

Here's a couple more from the NSRA event...Nice '54 Ford coop, with Lakes Pipes...

And a '54 Chevy with a Mercury top and rear window...with double capped Lakers...

You're welcome Mick. And Dr. Dave - I was thrilled to see one as a kustom. I have never seen another one done that way either. Very rarely even see them stock, only as gassers and such. One of the nice thing about going on Sunday (when I really should have been home working on SK 500 and CCR images) was that I had it all to myself with very little around it. The bad part is that a lot of cars were, of course, already gone - like that beautiful blue flamed 54 Chevy Roger just posted.

  12. Saw this nice custom at a huge local show. It was built in the late 50s ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1435674240.621570.jpg

  13. Does anyone have more info on the car?

That is the famous "Yankee Clipper", originally built by James Karcher, of Connecticut.
It is probably best known as the "Ray Soff Ford", as he has owned it for decades. A search under either name should turn up lots of info.

    EDIT: Correction: "Connecticut Yankee"

Here's one more from the NSRA event in Pueblo, ColoRODo.

Mild, certainly but it has dummy spots and it runs stock Chevy hubcaps on those whites...

It's actually known as the Connecticut Yankee, but we know what you meant. Lol

    Thanks for the correction, CHOPMERC.

The car must certainly have taken its name from the popular Bing Crosby movie, 'A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court" (1949), based on a Mark Twain novel of the same title.

Now that I'm not sure of. I'll ask Ray. I have the pleasure of seeing this car on a regular basis, me and Ray have been friends for a long time.
He could definitely take away the "kustom Blues". He has one of the most comprehensive collections of original photos and slides of nationwide custom cars from the 1940s on up that exists. I wish he were just a little computer savvy so he could share it here.

For some reason I am thinking I have seen them on a Nash before. But could be mistaken.

  25. That very well could be....now I'm going to have to look them up. :)
