After a lot of reading on the HAMB thinks it's time to post my (almost done) project

Started as an original 1936 oldsmobile l-36
Bought it from a friend of mine for a reasonable price

The car had no paperwork which is a big problem here in holland.
After inspections they decided to give me legal papers so the dutch roads where open for me.

Now I dropped the car a little but not enough

My plans where to make it flat black, white walls, and try to make some money.
However, decided it needed a 'little' kustom touch, went to the english wheel and turn it into a delivery

after that I needed a big old sun visor , very rare in holland so decided to make one myself

now time for a bigger job, a c-notch and air suspension

These are land rover air bags, which are easy to get in europe

now time for a paint job
    started with the inside, orange

    IMG_2725.JPG

first flat grey, then some black paint over it, then some orange, and then all the way grey again

    and Done !!!!
Time for some sanding and a nice logo

One of the nice parts of a hot rod / Kustom to me are making gimmicks
So took a beer keg and an (empty) bottle of jack and made my gastank and fuel gauge

at the right you can see my air ride level control center (a tire pump)
used an old airconditioner pump to get air

    IMG_2995.JPG

Yesterday, I had my first test drive, had to change to bigger tires in the back as I could only hit 40mph, put some bigger on it and now it's nicely getting 50mph
next two weeks some more things to do as I wanna drive to the biggest old style hot rod event in europe, Kustom Kulture Forever which is in Germany in 2 weeks

I'll keep some pics coming, hope y'all enjoy 'm as much as I do on the HAMB

thanks, just a regular straight 6, nut has torque without an end (for that era)

  11. Boy you aint going to see any like that around.NICE JOB!!!!Bruce.

  12. that turned out damned nice!

  13. At first, the idea to try to convert this into some sort of a sedan delivery sounded like one of those projects that really never turn out well. But this car has the right proportions and your body work turned out well and the whole thing is a treat for the eyes. I even like that you left the rear doors intact. :D

But please don't tell me you have a real glass bottle with real gasoline in it beside you on the front floor. And I can't tell from the pictures, but is the gas tank vented to somewhere outside of the body?

I was another one who thought "Oh-Oh" at first, but that particular car lends itself well to the conversion. Leave the 6, paint it shiney black, raise it some and I'll bet you could convince a lot of people it's factory!

Great car. I have always looked at 4 doors as donor material. Looks like I may have been wrong. Great idea and result.

I also like the look o.k. but dont care much for the gas tank and guage setup, thats just askin for touble.
If I had to for now, I would at least just use the tank and skip the gauge idea

Very neat idea but you really need to rethink the fueling ideas. To many thing could go wrong for ya. I like what your doing so please don't take what I saying in the wrong way. Roger
