Went to look at this listing off of CL. Sometimes it seems like things are meant to be. The fellow selling the car was someone I worked with almost 40 years ago. We reconnected and it was great. Left the deposit and now have to sell my two OT cars to make room for it. The plan is to make an nostalgic Jr Stocker (from the outside). Will have a few modern upgrades. (front disc brakes and a 350 w/a PG).

Those post cars just look so much more 'racy' to me. I prefer 'em to the hardtops. Congrats on your score, looks like a solid one.

Thanks all, Yup I like the primer look. The front seats have to go. Will be looking for a 57 bench seat. I'll post more when I start working on it.

The 59 to 65 GM bucket seats look good in em too,57 bench seats are out there but usually pricey if you are lucky enough to find one.
55,56 seats will work but they are a little diffrent.
Congrats on getting it, cant help but like the ralleys too as they have always seemed to look at home on a tri five chev, however some earlier style wheels would give it an earlier classic vibe.

  19. Good looking 210 ya got there. Yep, the seat debate.. Early 60's big gm buckets look good, Strato - Buckets can look at home as well.

  20. Sweet score! You will never regret buying a 57...

  21. Like everyone else who got rid of a bench seat, "DOH!"
It is the seat that looks best in the car.

A little update on the build.

WOW, May 2015 it's been almost 2 years. Here's the story:
Traded my 67 Camaro for a 57 Chevy. Wanted a Tri-Five since my first car was a 55 Chevy. Well after the deal was made the work needed on the 57 was over my head. So talked to my buddy Victor Dean who has done the work on my transmission and rear on my Firebird I race at Island. Victor also did the rear and trans on the 57 but now he was going to install new floors, inner and outer wheelhouses. Also a 2-1/2 inch exhaust and new wiring harness. Talk about a talented man who does great work and is very honest. Worked with me, my budget and never wanted me to over spend on parts. I ordered the parts for Vic and he did the work. More then completely satisfied. Hope the Photobucket link works. Need anything done, older cars or just anything give Vic a call. Tell him the guy with the 57 Chevy give him 5 stars. So, in Northwest Jersey and need help here's his info:
    Address: 133 NJ-183, Stanhope, NJ 07874
    Phone: (973) 347-1860

Here's the link, my streetable Jr Stocker (somewhat anyway) Hope to hit the track in the next month.

  23. Good for you! Good luck with it! The first car I built (correctly) in 1965 was a '57 210 with Belair side chrome. 283/270 , four-speed , 488 gears. It was my daily driver. The Belair Hardtop was my cousin's '57 Fuelie , four-speed.

Nice pickup, I have a 57 sedan I like the looks of the post body vs the hard top lol mine was a shell and even though I've had to practically find every part for it it's been a long 5 yrs what with 5 back surgerys, then open heart surgery then broke my ankle got infection during my back surgery in my spine and almost died then the same thing in my ankle, they say once u get that mrsa u always have but anyways it's been a long 5 yrs now I'm in the middle of changing it over to disc brakes and had to buy new wheels BC the chrome reverse rind won't fit on the disc caliper lol maybe by 2018 I'll have it running but it's been fun doing it, it's my first build and I've learned a lot but I Lov this site BC I get so many answers and Lov the stories that go with them hahahaha

After two years of working and having work done. Got it down the track. Best 13.40 at 99.39 mph. Has settled into the 13.70 range right now. Drive it to the track, race it and then drive it home. It's a blast and gets a lot of thumbs up.

    That's cool, but I think a 350 would move you up a little higher than N/SA. :D

I try to pass it off as a 283 The old finned valve covers, etc. From the outside trying to make it look period correct. Would of liked fender well headers but didn't want to cut up the original inner fender wells.
