Hot Rods Just asking because I don't know??

I had a Chevy 250-6 P/U engine out of a truck that had a one-piece head on it.

What was under the two humps on the valve cover??

And what were the pipes off the valve cover for??

I asked over on the big truck site and nobody answered me is why I'm asking here..

An elaborate pvc set up for smog control I took it all off mine and ran a reg valve cover for a 250 and de smoged the whole engine

 

I just sold a ot 47 kb1 4x4 had it still on it was going to do same thing

 

You can replace the head on your engine with the earlier head that used separate intake manifold. If you choose to change it, get the matching exhaust manifold too, as yours will not fit the earlier head.

One piece were prone to cracking if I remember right.
