I put the body back on and started laying out the floor. I really wanted to roll some beads in the floor panels so I bought an EL CHEAPO and beefed it up, added a motor and foot pedal worked great. Also got trans tunnel cover fabbed up. You can see Baxter is helping. The wooden structure was a shelf for the glass, rubber and retainer to sit on. So I had to recreate that using my Shrinker/stretcher

  5. You've done some outstanding work, and a lot of it in a year and a half! Some great tech showing in your repurposing of other's "junk" too. My kind of shop. Thanks for sharing all your hard work. Your attention to detail, and speed of execution is inspiring!

If those motor controllers are newer VFD's they may be able to be set up to control spindle speeds on an older manual mill that's 3 phase or any 3 phase equipment. Sounds like they're older though

Anyone like this set up as much as I do? I have a fascination with flipper style hub caps. So I adapted that style to an original hub cap. I cut out the old stainless centers and hung'em on the wall of junk shit, and welded In the new ones ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1410463257.267174.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1410463513.049948.jpg and the wall art is much rougher than it looks that's after I knocked the dents out. I found the 4 hubcaps 4 $ 20 and put a twist on'em

  10. Maybe late to mid 80s Huge & heavy.

I don't thing as a unit they are going to do much but a reconfiguring of the inside components might make something interesting.

We'll this is about where I left off. Mocked up the hood and grill. I fixed about 25 bullet holes or bulges in the hood. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1410472330.686783.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1410472350.203434.jpg . Can't wait to get back on it!

Nice work! I've always loved the hood doors on these cars. Looks good on the '32 frame, prettier than a stock Chevy one.

Man it's looking great What are the top bows out of I guess the came with the roof skin but what's it off of . Your car is a eagle I believe that what the cowl I bought for mine was I had to narrow it to fit my mercury series body about 2 1/4 inches . Well as final statement as if you haven't figured it you work harder to build a chevy but when you drive it somewhere it's more than color separates it from the rest you didn't just bolt it together and they May turn there noses up that we used ford frames but our motors pushed their cars for years lol. !!

I second that motion my Bowtie Brother. I bought a roof section from a 48 suburban from Kenneth Neel. He sets up at all the big swap meets in the DFW area. I was buying parts from him for the AD truck builds. There's 6 cross supports total and the rear has 2 smaller lengths tying the new rear window support together. And the middle support has the interior light mount. It was well worth $250 ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1410713713.088879.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1410713741.855363.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1410713760.304836.jpg hope to see some pics from yours and other Chevy builds

Merry CHRISTmas everyone, it's been awhile but I'm slowly making my way back into the shop knocking out some small stuff. Got the headlights mocked up. And Baxter had an unexpected visitor that kept him busy ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1419167482.279287.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1419167553.032939.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1419167604.128742.jpg

Hey Terry good to hear from ya... Man I'm getting stronger everyday. 8 weeks post-op today, I'm still quite limited but so ready to make some progress on the project. Gonna get wifey to come out and help me set a door on the stand and start some inner structuring and window regulator mount. Have you started on the shoebox?

Terry I hope your taking pictures, would love to see it in a build thread....I've been toying around with the rear bumper and tail lights. The bumper is from a late 30's chevy car that I took about 10 inches out of. The ends curl around the corners just right. Since the original tank and cover panel aren't being used it needed something to complete the look. I just couldn't wrap my head around the idea of mounting the tail lights in the rear body panel... Instead pushed them out to the corners ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1419596341.989143.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1419596358.820647.jpg KidCambell are you working on a project?

Yep, I had read this thread in trying to figure ut what might be possible using a Ford frame or front axle with transverse spring on my 33 sedan. I imagine I could probably put that axle on a Chevy frame too though. Some great pics in there that will be helpful to me no matter which way I go, I believe. Thanks for the reminder on my chassis thread.

Yessir- I've been working on the doors. The wood, vent window, all windows and mechanics of the door were gone. All I had to work with were the skins and what little support pieces that attached to wood. So I had braced the doors awhile back and now decided it was going to be easier to install power windows than try and salvage original pieces. Then started reading here and found good things about New Relics window regulators. They make one for the 33 minus the vent window ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1427842758.152139.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1427842785.351801.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1427842817.901361.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1427842859.604407.jpg . And added support on top of the door where there was wood. Still need felt channel and glass.

Slow but moving. I feel as old as this car sometimes. I'm working on the door poppers now. The window garnish is almost complete to match the chop. Will be mocking up templates and have glass cut soon. Thanks for the support guys
