Its for a boat and its like a regular 6-71 blower it just has water channels in it. Nowdays they use the superchiller to cool the fuel. It has never been used, N.O.S . I dont have any pics yet but will soon when i get it home from USA. I have a picture of a similar blower. This is not mine.
471 with Cragar/Weiand intake and Cragar rear cover plate. All Cragar 2 inch drive Chrome plated (including intake)> "Chrome won't get you home" but if it blows up I can sell the blower and get home on a bus.
For the Holley guy's......Boost referenced? Yea/Nae/converted yourself,or bought/or just stuck one on and are running with it? If so- notice anything? performance? Mechanical secondaries? Tough to stab 2 fours, and the info could be helpful to the post....... Enlighten us..........
Have had this 4-71 more than 25 yrs. Was on a T roadster. Weiand intake and carb adapter, with M/T drive. Probably put it on the Nomad this summer.
Here's a few of mine. The polished one is a complete cragar kit with a wiend intake. The satin one is a ho Rebuilt setup also with a wiend intake. and just for fun I included a pic of my baby nailhead with a manga charger.
Mine are Holley boost referenced, blower, mechanical secondary carbs. Twin 950's. Its a stroked big block so lots of cubes in a 2400lbs. car. I ended up plugging off the power valves and not using the boost referencing. The engine was just not liking it in traffic. Temp was creeping too fast with the smaller primary jets. I fattened up the primaries, plugged the power valves and the engine is happier. Squared jetting all the way. Sometimes you have to give it what it asks for regardless. Something I would not recommend unless -like me- you are interested in racing it.... I have 1:1 linkage on each carb between the primaries and secondaries, and both carbs operate 1:1. So when I whack it, all 8 open completely simultaneously. Holy HIT with the roots at 7psi! Light switch throttle response like an alky injected. I can be rolling along in high gear at 50mph, nail it for just a second and the slicks light off instantly. Evil.
Just finished building my intake manifold to mount a 6v-71 roots blower on my 330 Desoto Hemi since the originals are as rare as hens teeth and worth a pot of gold!
Hey Carl-I'm gonna have to see you pilot that thing in person.......Either it's a shitting your pant's session,or a shitting your pant's session! Either way, you've succeeded! Very Well Done!
Hi I have a 454 chev with a 6-71 blower with 2 Holleys that I referenced my self. I plugged the vacumn port under the carb base and then drilled from the vacumn side of the power valve into the vacumn port for the dist. vacumn advance. The I hooked a hose from there to the manifold under the blower with check valve and a bleed off in the hose. Regards Dave
