99.5% of the time i run the full hood, but every now and then i get the itch and its off for a few days.

Bad Ass !!!

 

When I was 11 my neighbor had a Roadster like this one... he was running a 394 olds with a "F'd up" 3 speed tranny. He gave the kids rides in it and when I got a ride he did a "burn out" and I was hooked!

That car lasted until he could afford a 69 Z28.

It was his last Hotrod and the last car he raced. Apparently he bought a muscle car shortly after puking the tranny before he could get it to the track.

His car has inspired my last and next Roadster.

Not my neighbors but other Cool 60's vibe cars!

 

The 35 Chevy Std coupe, my dad acquired it from an older gentlemen in town who ran into something & bent the front frame horns. My dad got a 34 Ford front axle, wishbones with juice brakes from a guy putting a corvair frontend under a 34 Ford Roadster (yeah in the early 60's). You'll notice the front end is slightly off, although he said if he had it now he would have done it differently. He put the 322 Buick in it with I think a modified LaSalle trans (I'll have to ask him again), and an Olds rear end. He had it for several years after that photo as I remember it in the driveway as a kid. Somebody came by some evening and offered him what was considered alot of money for the car at the time so he sold it having a young family and all. Never seen it again, this was in Gibralter Michigan. It's the one car he wishes he didn't let go.

Great background on your Dad's '35 Chevy. Thanks for posting. Unfortunately, many of us have been in his former situation and have done the same thing, afterward wishing we had those cars back. It's amazing, after letting them go, they seem to disappear off the face of the earth.

That is cool. I wish I knew where some of my old cars are or even had pictures. Sadly Jim it doesn't really matter where the years have gone only that they are.

 

Very cool for you to see a picture of one of your own from someone who thought it was cool enough to share with the world.

I wish I could find pictures of my neighbor's Roadster as well as my Uncle Bills hotrods.
