image.jpg Here's my 52 hudson hornet I bought from Rock n Roll DaddyO on here. It's due to reach UK on 29th December. Hopefully tidy her up and lower her at rear, add whitewalls n hubcaps and possibly paint lower half cream

I think 4 door customs are becoming more popular - they are family friendly.

    Wow, lots of great pics!

I'm having a moment where I think I'll be shelving the 39 std coupe ute and using a 39std 4 dr sedan body instead.....

I'd love some mild custom inspiration as there really isn't many sedans about. It needs a floor so a channel might be in order, have also been thinking about moulded fenders and maybe deleted running boards....

    It'll be running a mild 8ba, 39 box & wide 5's...

Any one got any thing? Maybe this is the wrong thread, but I read the title as early 50's as in styling??

Happy to be corrected or redirected?!

    Cheers

One word for you guys over there SPOILT, you have some great looking four doors over there from the 30s onwards that we over here would love.
The very few nice motors over here all returned to the ground, I look at your classifieds and drool at the cool 2 and 4 doors that I would love to own and will ship something over someday.
    Cheers

  10. Maybe more like 1957 Bel Air front and rear.jpg a late 50's if I can play too.

  11. My Bel Air H.T..jpg Look closely, you'll spot the General Dual 90's on the rear. Sticky Stuff!
Dumps behind the front wheels too.
All shit we used to do for our street sleepers.

That pretty much sums up what most people think of 4 door customs....no insult intended James. I like a tastefully done car....I don't care how you get in or out of it.

  13. The Sheep in Wolfs clothing.jpg Not a custom for sure but I was proud of it for a first "Leagaly Register & Insured" first car.
My customizing consisted of repairing rust and doing a roll 'n pleat job to it.

For you Kustom History buffs, this wild machine was built by Jack Florence, of Fostoria Customs.
Jack's work, as well as the Alexander Bros., was also featured prominantly on the popular "Astorian" '55 Chevy.
    (A-Bros., Fo-storia-n.)

My mild '56 Ninety-eight. Not an early Custom but my first US car... It's here to stay. In Germany there are some guys that promote the "2dr are cool - 4 dr are lame" nonsense but I just don't care. I build my 4dr to my likings. Cooler than anything modern in my opinion anyways...

    That thing solid rocks!
Rare for me, but I wouldn't change a thing (unless interior, or vintage motor pieces).
Please tell me it's still Rocket powered(?).

I never cared for the looks of the 54 Plymouth but I like this one. The top chop really makes the car. Good work.

Original (rebuilt) 324 rocket but upgraded with a 4 barrel Holley carb and roller cam/hydros for lesser maintenance and because of 2 cams worn early due to modern quality issues.
Interior is of own design (simple DIY-job) but will be customized further next year.
Planning on possible new paint for the roof and pillars - becoming same dark blue color to lower the Sedan roof shape optically and highlight the dynamic side trim lines (forward look). Maybe adding subtle scallops to the roof only.

Recently bought this '55 for my 16 year old son's first car.
It will be loosely built around a 60's era family hauler built by a car guy.
More doors, but still fiesty and fun...

It's a shame that Speaks isn't active on here anymore, this is one of the best looking four doors I've ever seen. So simple. I love it.
