The drivers side is painted blue, 3 colors on the trunk and passenger side. On the trunk is written "Do not pass this vehicle". Maybe some dirt track history. Building the car now, just thought it may have some cool history.

    Thanks,
    Mike

I put it together on a good subframe and no putting it on a running a chassis. Had to replace the cowl and the tank. The drivers door was missing aswell. Now working on the tank and getting the replaced panels to match as close as I can. Photos as of today. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1400383242.052307.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1400383258.753594.jpg

No subframe? That sounds like it was a channel job, so just stick weld it to the bottom of some '32 rails like god and everyone else intended!

I have the old subframe that was cut in the front and rear, was very rusty. Just wanting to make it road worthy and preserve as much as I can.

The Roadster.jpg Man that is cool! You mentioned getting the replaced panels to match the rest of it; are you going to keep that awesome patina? Hope so, it's badass. Here's my newly acquired '29. Getting close... Good luck with yours.

Yes, going to keep the patina and history of the car. I have a 32 chassis for it and still unsure on the drivetrain. I have an early hemi, sbc, bangers and flatheads. We will see where this thing goes. Hope to put it on the model a chassis w/ banger this week. Enjoy it until I decide on the final chassis setup. BTW, your roadster looks great, I also love the AV8's.

Thanks, wino01, but this one's actually an AV12. I'll be watching yours with great interest. Enjoy the "ride"!

A little update, I got the body secured on the subframe, new floor pans, new wood kit, mounted on the running A chassis and drove it down the road. It ran great and felt good. Next is the gas tank and seat springs.

Those red and white stipes make the car look like the one that Andy Hardy used to drive in those old movies.

A little more done today. Got the gas tank cleaned and newly sealed. Decided that it set a little high, so, took a little bit of spring out. I like it a lot better now. Hope to get the trunk hinges on and then off to try to get the cowl, tank and drivers door to match.

Having a lot of fun driving the roadster, removed the windshield and stanchions. Located a pair of 700-16 for the rear. Like the way it sits and rides now

ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1425087783.911728.jpg i thought I would update this a little. I have been unable to get very much info on this car, I have learned that the car was used as a dirt track pace car in Texas, northern part of Texas. This info was from the gentleman I purchased the car from. We have been busy with the car. This photo was taken at The Hotrod Hillclimb in September. Banger powered.

ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1425088188.648656.jpg Since September, the banger was pulled and installed a 59AB, 39 trans, 32 kmember and pedals and a 325 gear In the model A rear. Also chopped the windshield 3" and got some folding windshield stanchions. Okie Joe is dropping a Model A axel and a big thanks to fellow HAMBers grywht and Brokenspoke for a set of 32 spindles and perch pins.

  28. Was so good to hang with you yesterday!! Love that roadster - shoot, love that entire collection. Glad I could help out!! You're still on the hook for a ride in it (when it's not 35* outside, hahaha) :)

Grywht, you got it. Anytime. BTW, I have several 39-42 plates, did not know you were interested in them. We didn't make it to that part of the shop yesterday.
