Thanks MO, I thought about driving it around with out painting it black but just can't do it......For the guys that don't know what we are doing, we are fixing some rust issues. :) Dustin Milligan is getting closer, we hope to have it finished by the end of next month. May end up being at the Starbird show in their Cool car Corral on Saturday.
    Dustin has some serious skills....

Thanks, straykatkustoms, (may I call you 'kat'?), for the kicker photos.
Take careful note of the photos, 'gentlemen'. They're fixing an ex-4dor, using fresh 4dor parts. All this gets lost when the paint goes on. And when I say "latest round" of work, when 'kat', got this thing, it had Datsun Z-car headlights!!!!

BTW, I trust you'll be using the stock body line this time?

Thanks for bringing up the Datsun headlights. Lol! Thankfully they are long gone. Those were some sad days.

Yes Doug we will be putting the '52 Caddy bumper and tailights back on. I like the way it turned out.

Look out! You're pressing all my buttons!!!
    Yes, Kustoms can be fun!

Is that an Imperial grille in the beautiful black Merc? (EDIT: brown Merc.) Try and find one!!
6 headlight Buick? Too new for this board. But I've got some little pages with a '59!
That mid-50's Ford has been around half of forever, and yet the "Where's Waldo" period police are bound to snipe the mirrors! Are those crazy fender scallops from a '60 Plymouth? ( I know, easy to look up.) And, uh, what about the chrome strips on the '55 Poncho bumper? 2 out of three? Let's talk Kusrtom here!

David Guymon built the Kustom Ford hard top and I love it. Love the fender treatment. It can be improved upon but the kool thing is the owner drives it everywhere. Love to own it some day because with a little help it could look right out of the little pages.... The Brown Merc with the Imperial grill is one of my all time favorite, she is purrfect.

This thread gets better every day. I keep seeing this Buick but can't get enough of it. Perfect in every way.

  13. We (The Rodsters of Northern Indiana) picked the silver buick as our club pick at the 2014 Relix Riot. Also the primer ford sedan appears to be a 54. It was almost our club pick at the 2014 CRR too!

Snow day here in the midwest today, so spending the day reading about Kustoms. Post #394 at Custom Car Revival, (page 14) shows a chopped red 51-53 Olds with a later (55?) fishmouth bumper/grill. Any one have any other shots of this car? Profile? Rear? NEAT looking car!!

  22. I've got some pics of the red olds at beatersville where my friends in the roller rockers picked it as a club pick. Its a really neat car. It has an impala roof scoop and Packard taillights. still running the 303 and 3 spd too. The imperial grill in the brown merc is from a 54. I found one in a local yard and my friend used it in his 54 ford custom

The red Olds belonged to "Big" Ed Weidekamp, founding member of Obsolete Iron Car Club of Louisville KY. It was done by master craftsman Pat Keating 25+ years ago. Original engine and column shift 3 speed stick. Sadly, Ed passed several years ago but fortunately his son David has retained caretakership. It's even nicer than the pix.

Man that Olds is totally perfect. Color is beautiful.

And is that tuck and roll inside the wheel wells?

I might be wrong, Manny, but I don't think that is an Imperial grille. It looks like the center out of a '57 Chevy pickup grille.

The Barris' used one in the center of Johnny Zupan's F-100. They used the Chevy truck grille center in the center of an inverted '62 Chrysler grille.

Zupan's truck is one of my personal favorites. Someone needs to build a copy of it..........E

  29. That is a Chevy that Manny asked about. I don't know about the grill in it but suspect you are probably correct with the Chevy truck center.

The Imperial grill discussion refers to the brown Mercury (4th photo) in post #487.
