Can someone tell me the bolt circle diameter of the 50 Merc clutch. I thought I had read it was 10 5/8 but the one I got from Fort Wayne Clutch is 11 5/8. This is going to bolt to an early SB Chevy flywheel. The clutch disc sent is correct 39-40's disc. 10 inch, correct splines for the 39 trans. Thanks.

You have the correct '50 Merc pressure plate to bolt to the early (168 tooth) Chevy flywheel. The bolt pattern is completely different from the usual Ford pattern.

I just measured two '50 Merc pressure plates--11-5/8" bolt circles.
They fit my mid '60s 153 tooth Chevy flywheels.

The 49 through early 51 Mercury all had the even six bolt spacing of the 10-inch Borg and Beck with 1 3/8" -ten spline. It should be same as the later Chevy diaphragm type clutches. The spacing dimension should be on the Centerforce web site since they use a diaphram type.

Thanks to all. I am going to buy a flywheel and couldn't find the clutch bolt circle. Some showed multiple hole patterns but didn't spell them out. The motor I'm rebuilding was an automatic so didn't have a wheel to check. Fort Waynes parts are better looking than most new stuff you buy these days and they were super helpful. Great to have folks who can help out when your lost. Slug
