We were at Indy (1964-65) and I remember seeing the Ornermotive injection. I seem to recall the tow car was a 1964-65 El Camino with Ornermotive injection on it too. I saw a couple of those setups at a swap meet back in the early 90s.

Your right, we should reserve some of this to PM's.

When I met Larry when he owned Richard Boone's (Paladin) Maserati, he did great work for us and was a good friend, his Son Troy has carried the talent forward.

Will be down to Talladega on our birthdays March 5-7, guests of the local Model A club who has arranged for the A's to run on the track, do you live near, I will PM you.

I don't check in for a few days, and I have pages of photos to catch up. I love it! The yellow '56 is the same car as the red, white, and blue '56 in post 38913.

Top photo: Greek, right lane, racing Garlits...looks like Union Grove, WI. I wonder if either Don or Chris has any idea how many times these two guys raced against each other?...

 

The Yellow Fang of George Schrieber and the Tony Nancy photo posted on this page were taken by Ian Liddell at the Castlereagh Dragway in Sydney Australia during the last round of the 1966 US Drag Fest in Australia. Ian has just decided to post his many pics taken at during the first year of organised Drag Racing in the State of New South Wales and he has some great shots. We started racing on March 28 , 1965 and will soon have 50 Years of Drag Racing to look back on.

 

Not positive but, I think that was Art Malone vs The Greek.... I was born 20 + years after that picture was taken so, I can definitely be wrong!

You may well be right, it's Garlits' car, but after his fire in South Carolina, he had Malone drive for him...there is no date for this picture, but the Greek's car is his modified TE-440, which he ran about the time that Malone started driving for Garlits
