It's not really a resto mod, using 1949 parts so the truck is more drivable... Since it will be used and not just parked... But not like a street rod, it will still look like it should, but it will actually have breaks and a motor that you can get parts for...
    I'm gonna repost...

  8. Old iron that he wants to modify so he can drive it, what is the problem ?

If it bothers you that much,
pretend it is a "Gasser", with Red wheels.

"It's not really a resto mod"? That's what you called it, it was deleted so you are going to re-post?

He asked why it was deleted, so I answered him. He has been here long enough to know what the site is about.

Original was deleted, then reposted and now deleted again.

Sorry but your fire truck it is not a HAMB Traditional Hot Rod or Custom and off topic.

  11. I get that the fire truck not HAMB friendly, but his fabrication skills are. That radiator shell was roached. There are guys here that could benefit from see how he fixed that. Can he post his repairs of individual parts just not call them American LaFrance. I hate seeing that
fabrication tech lost to a rat rod forum.

Sorry but No - because we make one exception , then 100 other guys want exceptions.

    It's not personal - it's editorial.

As far as your last sentence...... if you're into Rat Rods - you are on the wrong web site.

Hank is saying he would hate seeing all the tech going somewhere else... Search lafrance... There's multiple posts about fire trucks... Including one thats really long about a chain driven lafrance that gets turned in to a giant speedster... That's a rat rod, I don't care who looks at it, this truck is a piece of history, all parts are pre 1950, and could be anything done in the 50s or 60s... Trying to rack people's brains and give some info and get some help in a few areas that I know some guys on here know a lot more than me on...
