When I was 16 which was 1963 you had to have red rims if you had white walls. I had this set up on my 54 Ford then and this is what is on my 54 Ford today, not the same car.
Some of my buddies are having problems with them running smooth. They seem to be out of round. How are yours? We drive em.
I like these.. They fit over stock 40-48 small hub caps on 15" wheels.. Sorry for not being whitewalls... Click on pic for larger pic....
So here's what I went with. Lots of sanding and polishing. Bottom pic is before. Top left is during. Top right is finished. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
They don't fit cause they hit the centre on the rim cause the cap dishes in and the rim curves out. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Really have to agree with you there. It's taken me about 4 years of going to swapmeets and combing ebay to find some vintage 16" aftermarket hubcaps. I finally found a set of Lyons 16" and a set of 16" flipper hubcaps that fit on like regular hubcaps. I was going for a late 50's look on my coue and wanted the full wheel covers.
I really liked this plain Jane Deuce four door that I saw in the swap meet at The LARS this year. I think they may be Merc caps with a trim ring that covers the rest of the wheel? Anyway, they have the look of full wheel covers. The wheels are painted gold.
