Technical Does Anyone Make Adaptors To Run Wide 5's On 5 on 5.5 drums?

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by Felipe Toltecatl, Nov 25, 2014.

  1. Does anyone make adaptors to run Ford wide five wheels on Ford 5 on 5.5 hubs? I've seen them for wide 5 to chevy but can't seem to find what I need. Thanks in advance.

The Speedway ones are VERY heavy, and have 5/8" studs, which may not fit your wheels.

    Buy them from Dick.

I use the Dick Spadaro adapters with my adapter covers. I think they are the best and the price is right. Jim Ford

  10. Depending upon what you have it might be easier, cheaper and safer to just change to wide 5 drums and hubs.

  11. Dick is eventually selling/liquidating the business soon from what I've read. He is no longer working and has someone working there until he moves to Florida. Check the Dick Spadaro thread on his health.

Bill has moved to Florida, The shop will be closed by the end of the year. I doubt there's anyone manning the ship there..so sad..

I talked with Dicks brother Frank and he said that they are closing and liquidating. I asked about the adapters as I need them to go with my covers. He told me that it would be ok if I wanted to make the adapters. So I have a deal with a local machine shop to start producing them in 5x4.5, 5x4.75 and 5x5.5, if any one needs 5x5 I can have them done at a small extra charge when making a run of adapters.

I should have them available within a month if all go's well. Contact info is in my sig file. It is sad to have to fill this need as Dick is a great guy and I only wish the best for him.
