1964 Econoline Heavy Duty P/U 170cid 6/4 spd stocker

Discussion in 'Cars For Sale' started by cosmo, Oct 9, 2014.

  1. City: South Elgin

    State: Illinois
    Price: $6500
1964 Econoline Heavy Duty pickup. 6 cylinder/four speed/9 inch (4:57). Very original truck, have original seats, new seats and paint are the only modifications. Runs well, stops well, looks unique. In storage for 40 years, very, very little rust. New tires, radiator and brakes, much love expended on it so far, but my time and money have run out. $7500, viewable in South Elgin.

Spares include transmission, OE radiator, OE belts(!), OE hose(!).

Now the not so awful good: trans in it pops out of first, but 4:57 ratio needs 2nd gear start anyway, I have spare trans which is good, side cover off inspection. Steering is a bit wander-y, a 90 inch WB and a rubber rake took all the camber out of it. I have 2 degree wedges, not in yet, might be able to get to it. It needs a bit more love, but I am in a severe bind.

Originally special ordered (DSO) for local concrete company.

    Possible part trade for sidecar.

  2. New radiator, heater core, hoses, blower motor, tyres (on Fentons), brakes, brakes lines (steel and rubber), and many little items needed for a daily, which this was to have become.
I DO drive this from Elgin to DeKalb (25 miles) every day I don't take my bike, it runs fine, stops great, and turns heads like Lady Godiva. Can be seen at DeKalb Advance Auto Parts 5 days out of the week, in case you're shy.
First gear will be replaced within the week, have all parts, awaiting time off. Steering has been adjusted.
Prices lowered $1,000 from original posting, now $6500 as in listing title.
Speaking of titles: clear Illinois title in my name.

  3. First gear has been replaced. Heat works well. Need money, sadly.
