Art & Inspiration Suicide Knob Brody Knob Necker Knob.....Picture thread

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by CTFuzz, Nov 21, 2014.

  1. I have been looking for one, at swap meets for about a year now, and can't find one I like or I don't have to borrow money to buy.................I sure would like to see pictures of what you have. I suspect someone has a collection of 'em!
Suicide Knob are NOT banned in any state.................Here on the East Coast, back in the day, they were everywhere. There are a lot of cheapo ones around on eBay, but I want an older one if I can find it. How about some pics?

Originals are getting harder to find, but sometimes you get lucky. Paid $25 for a steering column and wheel at a swap meet to get this one. Sold the column and wheel for the cost of my investment later that day to someone who needed it..

Stop at any John Deere dealership and there will be a box of them next to the cash register in the parts department. Of course they are black with the Deere logo, made for the small tractors and riding mowers.

Thread got me to thinking about these knobs. Remembered I had a CASCO similar to CTFuzz and one with, I believe Betty Page. Looked on EBay and was surprised by the asking price of these knobs. Guess I better dig them out and put one on the 33's steering wheel.

"Palm" knob -- you only put yer palm on it , you DON'T grip it or you'd break it -- only works well w power steering ;)

Should be mounted to the inside, so as not to get 'hung up" in yer shirt, coat.

Just found this in an old toolbox. Nothing special. Looks like the same generic one as above with removable emblems.

took some real skills to be going through the gears on the column and steering with the brodie knob, with your girlfriend sitting next to you

When I was a bike riding kid in the 50's I had them on my bicycle (naked girls) When I got older and got a car they were out of favor. My older friends told me if I put one on my steering wheel to put the knob on the inside of the wheel or risk getting injured of the wheel spun on you. Anybody ever get injured because of an outside mounted knob?
