Where can I get these? Theyre the 6 volt tail socket for a 1950 cadillac. I cant seem to find them anywhere.
at the bottom of this post is a LONG List of Cad Parts Suppliers , Hope this helps http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/finding-cadillac-parts.298882/
Thanks. Seems like a rare thing, why I dont know. I may end up having to modify it with a universal socket to make it work
Do you guys think these would work? http://m.summitracing.com/parts/pco-5401pt Theyre double contact and compatible with 1154 bulbs which is whats in there now.
I have no idea...they're all universal. But the housing has a good amount of room and the socket itself resesses into the body. Modifications will have to be made to mount them and ground them which I'm not happy about but nobody sells replacement sockets for my car.
http://m.summitracing.com/parts/pco-5421pt They also sell these - which I may possibly be able to basically put new guts into the old metal socket if those brown disks were the correct diameter.
can somebody tell me what bulb is correct for the liscense plate lamp? I need to find the correct 6v bulb number so I can find a universal socket to replace that as well - the original fully rusted out.
For anybody else that may benefit - I spent a few hours poking through the internet. Dont take this as official but from what I researched - the liscense plate light takes a #63 bulb and a BA15s socket. The 63 is a tiny bulb that is rated at roughly 7 volts but apparently thats what was used. BA15 means a bayonette style bulb with a base diameter of 15mm and the S stands for single contact. Whew! More than everyone wanted to know. I got the tail light guts from Summit (4 total because the turn signals up front dont always work and use the same bulb as far as I can tell), a BA15s socket for the license plate light from Vintage Trailer Supply, and all the light bulbs from Bulb Town. We'll see how this pans out....
