Very nice 1961 Ford Thunderbird hardtop that drives and handles perfectly. Turquoise blue body and interior, snow white top. Original Ford FE 390 V8 (6.4L) with a freshly rebuilt Holley 650 Street Avenger 4 BBL carb. Original Ford-O-Matic three speed transmission that shifts right on time. Both engine and transmission have been professionally rebuilt. Everything is in great working order: brakes, lights, signals, wipers, cold A/C, heat, interior lights, etc. Sits on American Racing rims and Michelins with loads of tread. New dual exhaust system from engine back that emits a sweet rumble.

This car has the cool Swing-Away steering wheel for easy driver access. New headliner, carpet and trunk liner. A new CD /AM-FM radio is hidden in the trunk with controls up front. Removeable speakers on floor in back - interior is unmolested and looks very good, two small dash cracks aside. Custom gauges (voltage, oil pressure, water temp) in dash. Tachometer. Odometer shows 101,470 miles - it just went around the clock.

Shiny paint (not original) with a scratch and chip or two but from ten feet the car looks great. Glass is perfect, no cracks or chips. Chrome is very good (not perfect). Had washed / waxed, never out in the rain.

Upgrades and work done: new rear bearings, new exhaust manifold gaskets, new valve cover gaskets, new battery, auxiliary electric radiator fan, new fuel pump, new generator, changed over to electronic points and a hot coil. New gas tank. New water pump. Just had the carb (Holley 650) rebuilt. Have all receipts. Also have some additional spare parts (interior, chrome bits, fly window, etc.). Includes a 1961 owners manual and the original build sheet.

Car is always garaged and covered. Never abused. Starts right up, no smoke, not burning any oil. No rattles or strange noises, just the V8 rumble. It is a pleasure to drive and I would not hesitate to take it anywhere. Cruises very nicely at 65 mph on highway.

    Clear Texas title in hand.
