What is the wildest hamb build?

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by JimSibley, Oct 12, 2014.

  1. How about Killer's "Left-over Special"? That goes back awhile, many here probably don't know about it.

I'd have to go with Atomic Punk as the wildest Hamb built car to date simply because we watched be built photo by photo and although it emulates Roth's cars it stands alone. And most importantly for the purpose of this thread it is out of the norm as far as Hamb builds go.

As much as I like Jim's coupe and it probably ranks right up there with the all time saves of something no one thought could be saved and built to where it is today it's not that much different in concept than a lot of other wild coupes that we have seen over the years, just better executed than most.

Found it. Built by Docfrankinstien, and called the Sonic Needle.
Seems it was for sale recently but didn't sell.

  11. Hahaha... Mark's got wild stuff and that mower thread was pretty darn funny!

I saw a bunch of HAMBrs looking for mowers to build at swap meets and garage sales !

Didn't see that kind of reaction with the "Wild Show & Go cars " before or since on any board!

Aside from the lawn mower there have been a ton of wild builds started on the HAMB with few completions But the "Lunar Lander" kind of started it when plowboy started slapping scrap metal together and it epitomized what could be done on a budget and a few beers!

But there were some noteworthy high dollar builds like the guy who built a completely hand formed aluminum 40 Willys coupe from scratch... that was impressive

My vote goes to Eric and his "Iron Lung" Bubbletop.

I love the Atomic Punk, but next to this, Aarons looks like a perfectly sensible car for every day use.

LOL, everytime I post a photo of a "wild" car on the HAMB, I get a "Post deleted" message!

That sounds like a definition for a Rat Rod. I will have to use that one next time I see an unsafe rat rod build.

As the proud owner of Plowboy's Lunar Lander, i can assure you that nothing Aaron builds is even close to a rat rod.

I was not referring to the build posted, the description struck me as funny and sometimes very true

    It's a photoshop/3d model. Not a real car.

  27. There has been so many over the top builds and not all are automotive..

Chuck and crew over at Strange Days with the FINKOSEL or Moriarity with his atomic yardmaster

As eluded to in a earlier post, the talent on the Hamb has no bounds. HRP

  29. I'm sad that English Gent's Deuce body study thread got deleted. He was using the shapes that a donor VW body provided to make his forms for a '32 roadster body construction. There were a ton of fabricators that followed as I did.

    EDIT: IT's bacccccckkkk !!
