Hopefully the Vette will erase the bad memories and replace them with good ones. Getting it running again will likely make him smile again. :)

A friend and I drove a hundred miles to look at a '63 cpe way back in 1970. He wanted it soo bad.....but, no money, and the guy who owned it wouldn't take payments. We left. I called the owner the next day and told him I had the cash, and if it was still for sale, I could be there in a bit over an hour......I drove it home that night. $900. Ex drag car, red of course, recent L-88, 4 spd, cut out rear wheel wells, tow bar tabs, and a 4:88 rear. IT was a HOT ROD for sure. I tried to drive it to work a few times in December, but I couldn't get it to move in the snow......It was a very nice car for the time and it's history. Sadly, my new bride didn't like it, so I sold it. I had a '65 cpe, and a '56 2 top, at the time, so I didn't really miss it. I wish I had it now.

Never liked 'em. Turned a nice one down for $1800 in '73 because I didn't like the split. 327/300, fresh red lacquer, black interior, 4 gear & new Cragars. I've since changed my opinion...:(

I never cared for the jackets & hats ya had to wear either.

    Very nice I vote chrome

  11. You would have to look pretty hard to find it but Groucho has a pretty neat split window. He went with spoke wheels and wide whites in an effort to make it "more traditional" and I thought that it didn't help it a bit, but it was or is a very sweet non stock split window.

Maybe search Groucho and find some pics.

  13. Very tasteful mods so for. Something as simple as changing the wheels alone, make it stick out more than the average run a the mill Corvette.

  19. Just bought the car I grew up in (1965vette)and probably the reason I'm a car nut ! Car was restored in 1977 by my dad right before I was born and has been sitting for at least the last 20 years in a temp controlled garage! Car looks the same as it did 30+ years ago ! I grew up around corvette guys not all of them are jerks most are just car nuts with a love for the automobile in general!!
