I like the middle one best but with the stock hood.

Looking good! a few weeks ago I saw this car with no engine/trans and the front clip was on the floor next to it... and it wasn't black! Nice work.

  9. holy balls...you guys did some nice work

  10. Well, with the help of my club brothers Jerm and Skeeter, we ended up painting the Plymouth 2 days before we left. The drive was smooth and issue free. Here is a few pics.

Just wondering why you turned the whitewalls around? tires get lost in the sea of black. Just an opinion, but sweet ride!

  12. The whitewalls were supposed to be painted black but ran out of time. The target date for the build is 1944 so whitewalls were not as prevalent. Many early customs ran blackwalls. Thanks man.

Wasn't turning white walls in the cool thing to do back in the day?

Some guys ran WWW because they where thought to be better tires. That was for hopped up cars. That's the excuse I'm using anyway. Nice '41, I've always liked those prewar plymouths. I've got a '42 to eventually do up.

What trans are you running behind the flat 6?

  17. Just a stock 1938 Plymouth 3 speed floor shift. I have a 4 speed OD A833 that I may consider swapping in. I installed one of those in my old '34 Plymouth and it made such a tremendous improvement.

Nice to see this one bumped.
Will you be on the beach at Wildwood this year? Any changes in the works?
More beans for the 6? (BTW, I still dig the 3 window version.;))

The car looks great, I really like the blackwalls. I've been thinking about turning mine in, but I really can't decide. Looks like a great trip to NJ too.

  21. Thank Mo! We'll definitely be there again. I'm planning on some subtle changes like grille and head lights and slightly lowering the front a bit. The 6 is a terd but I don't plan on any hop ups as of yet.

Thanks choptruck. I love the blackwalls. I wasn't sure if it was the right decision but I figured if I didn't like it I could put the whites back out. As you can see, they're still black.

That's a great looking front end as it is, B.K. Can't wait to see (or hear, hint, hint ;)) what you've got planned.
    Front bumper?
Recessed plates were popular in the era. Any thoughts?

P.S. I love molded rear fenders on fat fendered cars, yours included.

  23. Mo, you're always kind with your words.

I am putting on a set of '37 DeSoto bumpers soon. Hopefully installing a '41 Buick grille.

You've got the goods, Guy. It's a cinch.
With KBTS2 coming up, how about an update?!

  26. Thanks Mo!

I've been driving it a lot and really enjoying it. I do have some plans before October.
I will lower the car just a bit all the way around. Hopefully add some skirts. Rechrome and install a set of '37 Desoto bumpers. That may be it for this year but you never know.
