  1. Industrial Metal Supply around the corner from CP-CARRILLO, YOU CAN'T MISS IT! :) By the way, I think Brodix makes a specific repair kit for that.

  2. its common place to use brass tubes and some epoxy. you can also try a good speed shop that does port work. my hemi heads have all 16 push rod tubes set up like that. no problems with them.

Also, settled on drilling the heads out slightly and using some copper tubing we had squirreled away.
Just took a wee bit of persuasion, going to braze the ends up or epoxy them soon...not sure which yet.Probably braze them,as I'm not digging the idea of a chunk of epoxy working loose and getting into the motor.

Also, sold my super-ultra-race-ported-006 3/4 Vic jr intake to put the money toward something a little more traditional...

I wonder what the Okie Doker wants inscribed on his tombstone..?

He better start thinkin' it over, cause the Shaker is gonna flat out MURDER the Ol' "Hokey Poker"! ;)

  6. I have never seen them brazed in before only epoxied. The driver of the dragster i work on invented the b-1 heads. He also did the heads for the dodge boys when they won three pro stock titles. If you want i can ask him what brand of epoxy he uses. He is on his way to tulsa okl for a match race. I could get a answer for you on sunday if you would like it.

    That would be killer,thanks.
I've got a small amount of both Devcon and JB Weld on hand, leaning toward keeping the Devcon for port floor raising type situations though.

With luck this 62 will fallow use to the meltdown next year.

  17. thanks i do appreciate all the kind words and pms

  18. The epoxy that you need is called araldite. Roger says dart also uses this brand. Get some tubing with a .015 wall thickness. There is a place in chicago called kb that sells it. It needs to be around .010 smaller on the out side diameter. No press fit. Epoxy the tube and hole then slide in. Remove extra. He also said brazing in the tubes will be a disaster. Congrats to roger he went 3.86 in the final to win. Texas in two weeks.

Forgot to mention that we had the Shaker down to St Thomas for Friday night test n tune... ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1411410408.591926.jpg
Runnin' ok for old junk that nobody else wanted...:)

Still gonna need to pick up my game to the tune of a full second to run with the "Itchy Donger" though....;)

Luckily, Mr Holman and Mr Moody were nice enough to develop a cam for the LeMans program back in the '60's.....that's the stick that's gonna slay that Ol Chevy.

Well, that, and a whole bunch more gear in the 9"!

  22. Keep it up Scott, you need to keep stepping up the performance if your gonna take down the "Donkey Boinker". Remember also, you'll most likely be racing in hot muggy weather! Donkey 1.png

Yeah,I think I may have picked up a tenth or two just from the cold air,and a couple mph,as my first pass of the night was a [email protected] with a slipping clutch.

    The plan calls for:

    -more cam (solid flat tappet)

    -more gear (4.30 or 4.56)

-get the trans shifting better (linkage needs fine tuning)

-add line lock so I can get the tires good and hot (and drop my 60' time down from 1.95 to something respectable...)

-more carb (probably a pair of them)

-cylinder head 2.0 (found a set of C5 289 castings that are getting abused to within an inch of their life as we speak)

Absolutely destroyed a $45,000 o/t Mitsubishi Evo awd turbo at test n tune,so it was a good motivator to keep working on my little $200 motor...and my driving skills (or lack of them!)
