    Howdy,

I believe the Aussies & Kiwis register with their sanctioning bodies, receiving a number from them. As do the SDRA cars in Tulsa, if I'm not mistaken.

So far out here there are few enough of us, and we run mostly in less formal "nostalgia meets", that we're less formal as well. We're able to simply choose a number that appeals to each owner. Should a duplicate show up, we usually just add a letter or number with masking tape or such for that meet.
If you're being run in say, a bracket class as we do fairly often here, then the gentlemens' "duplicate rule" also can be used there.

If you'll regularly run in one of NfHRA's classes, as an altered say, then you'll likely want to register with them.

With SDRA cars, you just pick a number that is not being used yet. And if the same number is on the other side of the US or where ever, I don't think anyone cares. Have fun with your car. Don't read between the lines on those rules. Joe Hamby, President of SDRA.

So, the SC doesn't stand for Sterling, either Colorado or Connecticut then? :D
