Full hood, the lines flow from front to rear, beautiful !! Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Leave that hood off and detail that engine. Don't add any weight. Big Daddy says it's nothing but horse power and weight.
On this car, hood off. The reason is the color. I like the beige, but with the hood on it looks like a resto with it's fenders off. If the car had a color with more eye pop I'd likely prefer the hood on.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOD. Not that many flatheads and yours seems to be well detailed..............................
If you add a hood you might as well add the fenders and bumpers too! Personally,I think it's a cool roadster as is,but I think the top looks kinda out of place. HRP
Personally I like it buttoned up with a full hood, but it surely is a shame to hide that luscious Flathead underneath. With the hood on it's kind of a tease, like a mystery, people see it and think, "What's hiding under that hood?" It's sort of like seeing a great looking lady in a pair of black panties. She looks so damn good as is, but you just know there's a treasure to be found when you remove them.
I would put a full hood on it and remove the folding top, it looks big and bulky laying up there and takes away the sleekness of the '32 body.
Although I love your roadster and the beige paint it doesn't look like a "hot rod" with the hood on. I agree that hood and sides are beautiful but this seems to work at a disadvantage for you and just makes your 32 look too classy for a rod. Maybe if you took off the trim rings, lights, top, windshield, and painted numbers on the doors it would work as a lakes car. Funny, take off to put on. "Listen Mr... It ain't broke if I can't fix it"
I agree. The hood makes the car look finished. As for hoods at the lakes - they were required by the SCTA rules to wit; "All cars must be equipped with metal engine hoods extending from the firewall to a radiator shell and across the top to the beginning of the vertical hood sides. Vertical hood side panels may be omitted. All hoods must be securely fastened in place." - SCTA Technical Regulation 6 - 1947.
How bout this... Hood, no hood sides, leather hood straps... Lose the rag top... Paint the wheels black. Easy change up that would give the car a completely different personality. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I don't mind the idea of a top living in MN but a cockpit cover provides minor protection and looks sleeker. I agree with Ryan about the wires, I love 'em but they tend to look too pretty. Had them on my car for about 15 minutes and ditched that idea.
Smaller headlights. No hood. Hood top only when rain is in the forecast. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
That car looks good either way! But I'm partial to the hoodless look. We drive our 32 quite a bit - sometimes our daily driver - in most weather. I added a hood top with no sides to ours. We can run down the highway in the rain with no problems. Water coming over the windshield, under the windshield and over the doors but that flathead just keeps on going...
