I spun the front pump bushing on my Powerflite. Having an incredibly difficult time trying to find the part. Looked everywhere. I live in Northern California, you'd think in this mecca of classic cars and hot rods there would be somewhere relatively close that would have the part. Any ideas??? Vintage trans shops? The only one I heard of is Trans-Matic in Glendale and the old guy there said he didn't think he had one, but I'm still waiting on his call.

You may want to check to see if the old cast iron Torqueflite uses the same bushing. What year Powerflite do you have?

Also try wpc.com. There may be someone with a Powerflite.

It's a 1956 Plymouth. Would be great if the Torqueflite used the same bushing.

Give Northweast Transmission Parts a try. They are in Ohio and only deal in vintage transmission parts.

Place called the internet.....once you find that .....use google. I found lots of old tranny parts that way when I rebuilt my 56 Hydramatic.

Jeez! misspell one word and get burned at the stake. Sorry, it should have been Northwest Transmission Parts.

  15. If you really get stuck and it's just a cylinder type bush, you can always get a machine shop to turn one up for you. I use bronze bush blanks and make up my own, it's usually quicker than trying to find one down here.

Don't know if Hemiheads carry old transmission parts, but you can look.

If you run out of options, I have a 56 PowerFlite laying in the shed. It's my spare for the New Yorker, but if the one in my car ever fails I'll most likely just replace it with an overdrive of some type.
