Give your wife my address in case she ever decides to clean up more clutter on her own...lol. Thanks again Gary. Can't wait.

Alright, it's back to the shop. Hopefully some updates at the end of the day.

No pic worthy progress lately. Been rebuilding the mech brakes. But the spring is back on the front end. It'll be on its own wheels today. That'll be pic worthy for sure. More to come.

Chassis is back on the ground. Next is new brake rods, install shocks, some small things. Then it's on to the body.

Liked the T at the first TROG looks like this one is gonna be cool too. I'm picking up the same body style T to put on an A chassis for next year.

I have to ask, why do you have spring leaves UNDER the main leaf like that ? Never seen it done that way before.

@Don's Hot Rods the cut down leaves underneath maintain the height of the spring pack as stock, so I can use spring u bolts as stock.

dual log intake and split stock manifolds by @moose kinda like the ones @BCCHOPIT made for @Bugsy. I am really stoked on the home made look. Can't wait to see them in person.

I moved the chassis into my small shop for the final assembly now that most of the messy work is done. Looks good nestled in next to the '34 chassis, I think.

And I had to mock up the body on the chassis again to see how it looks now that I've got the stance where I want it.

  14. @general gow, you make me sick :) two weeks and you've got a roller...I'm on year two and just have a gutted body on a bare frame; my next 'care package' might just be a plane ticket to Texas so you can get mine done too, lol!

@gwhite Gary, I also don't have a gaggle of kids following me around everywhere I go. Mine are all grown, and I have this summer off before grad school starts. So I am in a rare position, and taking advantage of it...

But seriously, I've got maybe 70 hours in it so far. But I did another 50 on the chassis last fall. So, 120 hours into the project as of now. And I've done all the easy stuff. From here, I think it will slow down some, as what comes next is the inner structure for the tub, and figuring out how to make something made in 1915 fit on something made in 1930.

Today's work went something like this:
    Blew the body apart.

Started on a framework for the body. L along the bottom, and 1x1 square elsewhere. Got the L and some tubing along the top on the driver side.

Took a lunch break right around the time the FedEx man showed up with some goodies from @gwhite. The headlights are amazing. Gonna run them just like they are. And the windshield frame is so solid. Incredible. Many thanks sir.

Then I made a frame for the passenger door. It probably weighs 3x what it did. Super solid now.

That's it for today. I kinda hope to have the body clamped back together by end of day tomorrow. But we shall see. I keep thinking I wish I had the body @Pete got. I'd be driving by now...

Nice work. Found this smaller center brake rod if you need it! ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1406256776.405113.jpg

  18. Glad you can use them! Looks like you're making excellent progress...I always wanted a '17-25 roadster or touring but realized I don't have the patience to mess with the inner structure, so I'll have to make due with a '26-27 :)

@gwhite I'd rather have a 26-7 for the size. And they are much more substantial than these early things. But, this is becoming fairly solid. Plus, it's fun doing something a little different.

@CaliDreamin' that's a rod to activate the brake switch. I have a few. Maybe you can turn it into a neat bracket or something.

While drinking my morning coffee in the shop, I realized I have some weird brand affinity...

I got this tank from some dude in Canada off eBay. It's a 1913 tank with a neat spring loaded gaas cap.

And then there was just lots more of this:

Trying to get old rusty metal to stick to new metal and make something out of nothing. Good times. Hard work. Nothing glamorous to show for it. But we keep plugging away.

Diggin the pie cut structure. I'm pretty sure I'll be doing this instead of buying/ building a tube roller. Is it 1/2"x1" or 1" box?

It's 1x1 and like .038 or something. If I had to do it again I'd use 3/4 round and buy a bender. I've probably spent half the cost of a bender on cut off wheels and welding wire...
