I bolted a chain from the crossmember to the rear end. It didn't seem right allowing the bags to stretch out so much if I had the truck on a lift or something. Anyone else do this? Was it necessary? ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1405747346.161806.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1405747359.918089.jpg
Wrapped it in electrical shrink wrap so it won't make noise.

Just wondering , how much heat can that pasti dip paint take ? Interesting way if dressing the engine. Let me know how it takes the heat I kinda wanna try it.

It says on the can 200°, but my friend put it on his harley engine case, and that thing gets pretty hot. Also I saw some Hondas that did it to the valve covers. I'll let you know how it holds up soon!

  4. That's my concern as well, I figure that can't be good for the bags.

You are bustin' ass! As far as bags limiting travel, I usually use the stroke of the shocks to limit the stroke ;)
    Works like a charm

My dad had some long travel dune buggy shocks that he gave me, so 14" of travel was too much haha. But I think now that the system holds air Maybe I won't need the chain... Thanks man!

So the brakes are plumbed, electrical is done except for the tail lights, I ordered a driveshaft yesterday, I'm waiting for a buddy to bring me stainless steel line for fuel, and I'm waiting on a few fittings for the tranny cooler. I'm going to drive this thing around the block soon! I still need a drivers side door haha, but it'll drive without it right?

    Very nice build, well done.

Question on the gas pedal. I have that same one, but had trouble mounting it so that I still got Wide Open Throttle. Did you modify the linkage that sticks out the bottom to get WOT? Thanks, and looking forward to the video of you cruising around the block sans driver door.

  12. The chains are a great idea. I used them on my stock cars with rear coils since the springs were so short, they could fall out when I had it jacked up.

The throttle was a pain, I'll try and take some pictures, but there's a hole for the linkage for when you press the throttle, then as it comes up it goes back into the cab. Sort of angled back. I have two holes drilled, one for the throttle cable housing, and one smaller for the cable.

    Thanks guys I'm excited!

I see now, thanks for the picture. I may need to make a nice bracket like that. Did mine years ago, but the project has been sitting, waiting, for years. Seeing yours is inspiring.
    Thanks.

Pretty bummed, this 700r4 isn't shifting into 3rd. I traded a th400 for it on cl and I don't think the guy was being honest... Anyone have advice?

    Thanks!

I replaced the bad 700r4 on Monday, I regrettably purchased a cheap eBay kick down cable, I ordered a lokar earlier. I also had to replace the cheap throttle I bought for a lokar. Lesson learned!

My truck is driving pretty good, needs the alignment done but I cruised up to 90 today and around town with no problems. Then I came home and the radiator fans were running, I didn't think much at the time but they usually turn off with the ignition off. A few hours later I had a dead battery. Also my thermo was giving me abnormal reads, maybe the switch is bad?

Plasti dip is holding up great! Thanks for asking.

Elbrujo, I don't know the valve size... It's a 283 with LS high compression pistons and oversized cam

A bolt on the flexplate came loose and i damaged a few teeth... Pretty annoying, but I'll replace it and the starter next.
