Serious hot rod addiction since kindegarden where drawing pictures of cars with no hoods gave concern to my teachers. Muscle car party was over by the time I turned 16 in 1974. Addiction was kept under control by 10 years of drag racing a 1987 Turbo Buick, followed by 10 years of street and strip muscle cars. Only one prescription seemed to work. All cars had to have bench seats, 4 speeds, dog dish caps, and big blocks.Although the illness was in remission, the cruise night obsession with money, rising car values, date code correct parts, factory paint marks, lawn chairs... caused the condition to worsen. Bought back and re-sold my 62 Bubbletop 409/409 (bench seat, dog dish caps, 4 speed...) and then found the cure. 30 A on 32 rails with 55 nailhead. Two Lane Blacktop saved me, one line cured me . "Those satisfactions are permanent". I attend daily rehab sessions at the H.A.M.B. I can now stand proud and say I am a hotrodaholic. Driving one is the cure, not having one is the disease.
