My grandfather used to own a garage next to the Colesium in Los Angeles. I used to sweep the floors there on the weekends for $5. I miss the smell of that place, it must explain why I like visiting the parts store so much!

The '57 Bel Air we have is my father's. He's the second owner, he bought it when he was a Senior in High School in 1962. That car wasn't a classic back then, but he loved it. It survived his wild teenage adventures, it outlasted his marriage and in his worst times, he wouldn't sell it to feed himself. Now that he's passed away my youngest brother has inherited it.

So really, we are into cars because of my dad. He's had so many real cool cars, they all came and went, the 57 was always there. My dad got to see the car totally restored before he passed away. Brought a tear to his eye to see what we could accomplish in the back yard.
