My friends call me Mickster. I picked up the name while bartending for over three decades.
I grew up in a drag racing family that resided around Jacksonville, IL during the 1960's. I have great memories of family outings that included watching my Dad, Uncle and their friends drag race on summer weekends at the Whitehall Drag-O-Way and the Beardstown Dragstrip. I have been hooked ever since.
I got burnt out doing the car show thing in 1993 and couldn't afford to competitively drag race, so I sold out and enjoyed my Harley.
I was drawn to another automotive project in 2005 and have since had several of them. I now participate mostly in cruises, nostalgic racing events and traditional hot rod shows.
As it began in 1994, I still make the hommage to Sturgis, SD for bike week each year in early August. After doing the 2500 mile ride on two wheels, it feels right to devote most of the last couple months of good weather here in the midwest to cruisin' around in something bad ass that has 4 wheels and a roof.Interact

I remember the first time I saw the Snake and Mongoose race at Indy; thanks Dad! - Loading...
