I was born into a racing family. My great uncle had a midget in the 50s, my fearless father raced flat track motorcycles and road raced some then he got a midget when i was 8 or so. My earliest memories are going to some pretty famous racetracks, the highbanks of Winchester, Salem, Eldora, IRP, INDY Mile and Springfield. He seemed to gravitate towards the scary fast places. I was fourtunate enough to be able to race mini sprints myself. It was a natural transition into hot rods thanks to 1943 striper!!!
