I started wrenchin on old Vespas when I was 14. I was in need for speed since it was an 80 cc that I upgraded to a 210cc over the years. A friend of mine who was running the local scooter shop has been my first contact to old American iron.

I was at his shop trying to find a new crank that could handle 30 Vespa Hp when he towed home his freshly bought ( and completely shot / T-boned) , want to say brandnew 57 Chevy coupe!
I no longer was interested in Vespa cranks but spent the whole evening in the passenger seat of his 57 driving circle after circle in the backyard of his shop.
That was the moment when I decided to sell all my Vespa stuff and get me an old car.
Shortly after that I got my 62 Impala which was some kind of a gift.
That was about 18 years ago.
The 62 Chevy has been followed by a 64 Impala, 56 Bel Air and a 62 Caddy.
I´ve sold the 64 Chevy and the Caddy and got a 34 Plymouth 2dr sedan project in my hands. It had cool leaf gold flames when I got it but technically it was a mess. I had to redo steering geometry, frame, motormounts , engine, tranny, rearend, driveshaft, firewall, brakes,.. anything but the body. That´ll be next. another project was a 61 Bel Air I built for a friend, a 61 Les Sabre recently sold to make room for one of my bucket list cars: a 1965 Rivi 425.
